“There is not in Italy what there is in Sardinia, nor in Sardinia, what there is in Italy.”

Francesco Cetti

We were so fortunate to spend nearly a month a half on the beautiful island of Sardinia. When we arrived in early May the island was nearly a ghost town, hardly anyone roaming the streets of San Teodoro. It felt like a special gift from the universe to be able to explore the island with minimal visitors.

We were able to learn so much from the people of the island, how much they love and pride they have being Sardinian. The culture is rooted in community, being in service to one another. We were swept away in beauty of the sea with the bluest waters amongst dramatic mountains.

When we headed inland our eyes mesmerized by the bright purple and yellow flowers accompanied by sheep and goats. It felt like we were going back in time. The slower pace of life feels like a requirement when visiting this island.

We know Sardinia is a part of us forever, and hope to return often.
