An Unconventional Life

A Unconventional Life.

I always knew I wasn’t meant to live a conventional life. The first major move I experienced was at 9 months old, and it wasn’t across town, it was across the world to Germany. Uncertainty has ruled my life since I took my first breath.

Each place I have called home has shaped me into the person I am today, open minded, giving others the benefit of the doubt, not judging others. I also have to admit that every time I landed somewhere new, I’d assess the people around me trying to pick out who seemed “cool” and would hope they’d like me.

I always wanted to be accepted, wherever I went. It’s something I’ve really struggled with, how to handle people not liking me. The truth is I’m in a place now in life where I don’t want to hide who I am, and I’ll be damned if I’m made to feel ashamed about any aspects of my life.

I take in pride in honoring people’s uniqueness and whatever makes them happy, as long as they aren’t harming other people. I know the path I walk in unconventional and weird to many, and to be honest I really don’t give a shit.

I know I’m here to shake things up, to usher in a new paradigm. Yes, I still feel myself wince when I write that because I’m still battling other people’s opinions. I choose to honor myself though, and always speak my truth.

I am forever a student, I change my mind, I’m open to learning, evolving, and changing for the highest good. I refuse to change from a place of shame though.

I hope you feel inspired to be courageous and honor your uniqueness.
